The convent of Santa Catalina Martir was the second monastery built in 1613. The church was inaugurated in September 15, 1647. Being celebrated the first event during the continued days. Among the years, the convent had 110 nouns and 6 novices who were not allowed to see, being seen or have any kind of contact at all with the community.
Nevertheless, on August 21sth, 1693 nouns were given permission to build a bridge on the street that would connect the property that had acquired at the other side of the street.
Convento de Santa Catalina is now a hotel which keeps the original architecture, as well as the same name and beautiful gardens as back then.
Our hotel offers 16 rooms. Single rooms, double & triple rooms, as well as Junior Suite rooms, seven or these rooms have kitchenette; two beautiful gardens with views to the Agua Volcano for our guests to enjoy.
