The convent of Santa Catalina Martir was the second monastery built in 1613. The church was inaugurated in September 15, 1647. Being celebrated the first event during the continued days. Among the years, the convent had 110 nouns and 6 novices who were not allowed to see, being seen or have any kind of contact at all with the community.

Nevertheless, on August 21sth, 1693 nouns were given permission to build a bridge on the street that would connect the property that had acquired at the other side of the street.

Convento de Santa Catalina is now a hotel which keeps the original architecture, as well as the same name and beautiful gardens as back then.

Our hotel offers 16 rooms. Single rooms, double & triple rooms, as well as Junior Suite rooms, seven or these rooms have kitchenette; two beautiful gardens with views to the Agua Volcano for our guests to enjoy.

El Convento de Santa Catalina Mártir fue el segundo monasterio de la ciudad de Antigua, construido en 1613. La Iglesia fue inaugurada en septiembre 15 de 1647. Siendo celebrado el primer acontecimiento durante los días siguientes. A lo largo de los primeros 10 años desde su apertura tuvo 110 monjas y 6 novicias, a las cuales no se les permitía salir al exterior, ser vistas o tener cualquier clase de contacto con la comunidad. Para ello el 21 de agosto de 1693, se les concedió a las monjas el permiso para construir un Puente en la calle, que, conectara la propiedad que habían adquirido al otro lado de la calle. Hoy, ese puente es conocido como el Arco de Santa Catalina.

Ahora, el Convento de Santa Catalina es un hotel que guarda la arquitectura original, así como el mismo nombre de antaño. Dos jardines hermosos con vistas espectaculares al Volcán de Agua se hacen rodear por 16 habitaciones entre Sencillas, Dobles y Triples, entre ellas nuestra Junior Suite.

Siete de estas habitaciones están en lo que es el área moderna, la cuales cuentan con cocineta y están en un área de construcción mas contemporánea.
