By Crista Luna

The weather in Antigua Guatemala is one of the best weathers around the country. The combination of its shiny sun and fresh air is perfect for anyone who wants to go and have fun in the outdoors.

Pablo Castro, from Antigua Canopy of Finca Filadelfia located between San Felipe de Jesús and Jocotenango, shares with us the different activities that you can enjoy in the outdoors of Antigua in this farm: “Antigua Canopy Tours are situated at about 30 minutes from the entrance of the farm and we have transportation especially adapted for this kind of roads for enjoying the spectacular views. We have a series of platforms upon the trees or on the ground for wild life observation linked by horizontal double zip lines from one tree to another.

There are two tours in Filadelfia farm: the Forest Express that offers 7 zip lines different in depth and length. The shortest line has 47 meters and the longest one has 220 meters. It costs $50 for foreign and $40 for Guatemalan people. This experience finishes with an assisted rappel down from a tree of 300 meters high. The other tour is for the most adventurous visitors: the Canyon Express, with two bigger zip lines of 510 meters in length from mountain to mountain. But if you don’t like the adrenaline, Castro offers you more outdoors activities besides canopying. “We also have a horse riding tour and you choose the one you like: 10 minute tour for $3; 30 minute-tour for $13; 1 hour tour for $21 or two hour tours above the $21.
